Edward Lamson Henry (January 12, 1841 - 1919), American genre painter, was born around Charleston, South Carolina.
He was the pupil of the schools of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, and of Gleyre and Courbet within Paris, and in 1870 was elected to the National Academy of Design, New York.
As the painter of colonial & early Our contries themes & incidents of rural life, he displays the quaint humour & a profound cognition of human being nature and severity. Among his right-known compositions come occasionally of early railroad travel, incidents of stage coach & narrow boat journeying, rendered by using great deal detail in the microscopic shell.
